Back to virtual life: a revelation

There are things that one is supposed to know, in theory. But sometimes they really strike you only once you live them.
One of these is the universal truth that if people fucked more, the net would be much less crowded. Of course, this concerns me in the first place, given the amount of blogs, newsletters, mailing lists, and more virtual places that fill up my life.

I've been away four days from the net. Yes, for the reason mentioned above. I've come back to find blogs full of posts and comments, my mailbox full of change-the-world discussions and messages to remind me of my duties towards a never-changed and always-changing world and, especially, a completely absurd and amusing thread on one of the mailing lists I write on, about a troll. I mean, can you imagine it? People expressing themselves in serious and pompous words about the right of expression and existence of... someone who doesn't exist! The funniest one, I must admit, was the creator of the troll himself: a troll is supposed to be created exactly to annoy and so, in the long run, be expelled from a virtual place. Well, instead of being proud of being expelled from the list, meaning he reached his aim, he complained about it!

I've been tempted to write something on the list, but finally I've decided against it for two reasons: first of all, because I don't want to be part of the game, exposing myself to the same critics of ridiculousness I move to others; and second but not least ;-) I've just waken up after my first night shift and my brain is not yet awake enough to be as sharp as I would like it to be.

More than that: I have a lot of things to do, now that I'm back to my normal life, even if in an upside-down way. I have a house to attend to, a podcast to finish editing, a diet to start back (I won't tell you about all the bad-for-health stuff I've been eating lately, and the way my trousers, once too large, now fit me perfectly) and a lot of web-email activity to go back to. And more, of course.

Before all this, I would like to thank someone for preventing me from surfing on the internet for a few days. But he doesn't like that I thank him for something he enjoyed as much as I did. So I'll just say I hope I'll disappear from here again as soon as possible.
